Meet the author
I’m Marcela Fuentes-Canales, a Chile-qualified nursing professional with more than 20 years of experience across mental health, emergency care, primary care and clinical education. I founded MFC Nursing Resources to help learners understand the reasons behind care through clear language and visual explanations.
My experience includes nursing teaching, supporting healthcare colleagues with practical learning and competency development, and contributing as a Physical Health Champion in a UK mental health setting.
Inclusive communication is central to my work. I have worked as a Chilean Sign Language (LSCh) interpreter and teacher, and I am currently studying British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2. These experiences inform my approach to creating resources for visual and Deaf learners.
My books, guides and CalcuNurse exercises are independent educational resources designed to build understanding and confidence.
